Story on Subang Jaya waiting for plans to curb water cuts in TheStar Metro (11/06/2013)
Syabas has yet to respond to suggestions on how it can alleviate future water supply disruption in the area, said Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh.
Yeoh and Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen attended a three-hour meeting with six Syabas senior managers last month to discuss and seek solutions.
“There were three broad topics discussed, including the need for Syabas to improve its customer service.
“We suggested that Syabas provide regular updates on water supply disruption via its website,’’ she said.
Wong said the second suggestion was for Syabas to develop an early warning system and standard operating procedure (SOP).
“The third suggestion is that the company have a water tanker supply SOP,” he added.
Yeoh said Syabas should have a sense of urgency as the problem was affecting thousands of Subang Jaya residents.
Last month, she had highlighted weaknesses in Syabas’ service after a water supply disruption in Subang Jaya which affected residents in SS15 to SS19.Syabas later clarified that there were no early notice because the supply disruption was unscheduled.
